Resumen:
It is presented the paleopathological analysis of an adult skeleton recoverd in the foot hill region of Jujuy (Argentina) with a chronology of 1710 ± 70 BP. On the basis of cranial indicators, it was assigned as possibly female, since the coxal bones were not preserved. The long bones have a notable bilateral asymmetry. The discrepancy between the left and right side of the skeleton also includes the jaw. The bone of the skull reveals a significant cortical weight-loss, more pronounced on the right-hand side. Furthermore, a considerable loss of spongy bone tissue is observed confirmed by radiographic information. Different measures were taken in the long bones for the evaluation of asymmetry (Robledo Sanz 1998), and it was weighed on a digital precision balance (table 1). According to the indicators, it is suggested that this individual could have suffered an intracranial expansile lesion which affected the locomotion (hemiplegia), gradually and during a prolonged period of time.
