Resumen:
Cellulosenanocrystals (CNC) show excellent physical properties, such as high elasticmodulus and low thermal expansivity. However, the application found for thismaterial are seriously diminished by the amount of superficial OH groups, thatmakes CNC unusable in non-polar environments. One approach to allow the use ofCNC in non-polar matrix, is the substitution of OH groups for long organicchains. Inthis work be focus on the superficial modification of CNC using differentsilanes as reagents.
