Resumen:
We present a model for calculating the hydrodynamic pressure on a dam, using rectangular finite elements of four nodes it considers that the fluid is incomprehensible and the dam is rigid. This paper details the calculation of the stiffness matrix for a water element and provides a computer program in MATLAB, the same is made with the calculation of the stiffness matrix of water from the dam. The finite element model is applied to the calculation of the hydrodynamic pressure Dam Hydroelectric Project Minas-La Union-Pitahuiña and compared the results with those obtained by applying the methods and Housner Zangar.
