Resumen:
La Cantera Formation, an Aptian estratigraphic unit from central Argentina was known for its fosiliferous content of insects, fishes and plant remains. New collections from these levels show that the biotic assemblage of La Cantera Formation is more diverse than expected. Preliminar studies suggest that the fishes correspond to at least four different taxa, and the plant remains to at least six different morphological types, including angiosperms. Arthropods include ostracods and different groups of insects like notonectids, corixids, belostomatids and coleoptera.
