Resumen:
It is usually assumed that isolated Cu1+ plays a pivotal role in catalyzing the oxidative carbonylation of methanol to dimethyl carbonate (DMC) on Cu/zeolite-type catalysts prepared by solid-state ion exchange with CuCl1,2. However, the exact function of Cu1+ in shaping the active site architecture remains unclear. Therefore, it is crucial to address this challenge using catalytic systems that ensure the presence of well-defined, chlorine-free and stable Cu1+ sites with a high degree of precision to guide rational design of catalysts. To achieve this, we employed CuGaO2 delafossite, which expose alternating rows of Cu1+ and Ga3+ cations on the clear-cut (110) surface
