A model is explored which permits the efficient computation of density-of-states profiles at disordered interfaces. The disorder is included by means of changes in the energy of the orbitals within a tight-binding approximation and may be inhomogeneous in the direction perpendicular to the interface. The density of states is found for different interface layers of a cubic lattice and the effects of the disorder are studied, particularly the possible existence of Tamm states near the surface of disordered systems.
