Descripción:
OBJETIVEDifferent processes were studied at laboratory scale in order to evaluate its feasibility for industrial wastewaters treatment (containing high chemical oxygen demand (COD) values; higher than 150 ppm). The tested processes were: oxidation with sodium hypochlorite, advanced oxidation process with UV / hydrogen peroxide and oxidation with ozone. The feasibility of the process was evaluated according to its capacity to reach discharge COD values required by the contracting company (COD = 50-75 ppm)GENERAL METHODOLOGYThe study of a process consisted on a set of experimental runs employing specific equipment such as photoreactors and perfect mixing reactors. For each tested process, two/three levels of oxidizing agent were used. During each run, samples were taken at different time. The chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total organic carbon (TOC) were analyzed in all samples.CONTENTS- Preliminary Assays: Physicochemical Characterization of the Industrial Wastewater Sample.- Feasibility Study for Industrial Wastewaters Treatment using Sodium Hypochlorite.- Feasibility Study for Industrial Wastewaters Treatment employing the UV/H2O2Process.- Feasibility Study for Industrial Wastewaters Treatment employing Ozonation Process.
