Resumen:
Arsenic pollution is a worldwide problem being one of the most important environmental issues in last years. A process which involves oxidation and adsorption for arsenic removal from water employing granular titanium dioxide and UV radiation is presented in this work. The aim of this research is to evaluate and study the effectiveness of a commercial granular titanium dioxide (TiO2) in combination with UV radiation for arsenic removal from water. Different As(III)/As(V) ratios were tested. Also, experiences were performed by varying the catalyst concentration. The commercial TiO2 employed has shown good photocatalytic activity. High As (III) conversions and As removal efficiencies were obtained.
