Resumen:
D. concolor (Langsd & Fisch) Kuhn is a fern that is found fromCentral America to NW Argentina between 400 and 1600 metersabove sea level. This plant has pedate fronds, with interrupted marginalsori, dark petiole and compact rhizome. This work analyzesits anatomy. Conventional anatomical techniques were applied.Stomatic Index, trichome index, stomata and trichome size werecalculated for 23 individuals with 5 repetitions. Both epidermisespresent rectangular cells with lobated walls. Hipostomatic leaveswith polocytic and actinocytic stomata of 36.62 μm x 29 μm. Themesophyll has 2 layers of palisade and 3-4 layers of spongy parenchyma.Protostelic vascular bundle surrounded by endodermis. Stomaticindex, 9.77. Glandular trichomes, 67.5 μm, with unicellularfoot and head, trichome index 2.49. Lobulated reflex margin.Subcircular petiole with glandular trichomes in the dorsal part.Sclerenchymatic epidermis and subepidermis, protostelic vascularbundle with V-shaped xylem, pericicle and endodermis. Solenostelicrhizome covered by scales, pith and cortex formed by esclereids, meristeles with endodermis. Adventitious roots with primary diarchstructure. The anatomy of this species is described for the first time. The characters of diagnostic value are: type of trichomes, stomata, steles, and the amount of esclerenchymatic tissue.
