Resumen:
The preferential oxidation of CO (PROX) is an important process to purify hydrogen produced by catalytic reforming of a carbon feedstock for use in polymer electrolyte fuel cells. Many different supported noble metals such as Pt [1], Ru [2], Au [3] and bimetallic Pt-Fe [4] have been reported as PROX catalysts, but their catalytic activity, selectivity and durability need further improvements.Since monometallic Pt/TiO2 catalyst has a poor selectivity toward CO oxidation, this work studies the promoting effect of tin in the catalytic performance of Pt/TiO2.
