Resumen:
In this work is described a procedure for the selective oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxide using Keggin structure catalysts, synthesized in our lab, by partial proton substitution on different amines such as quinoleine (QuiH2PMo12O40), cinconidine (CidH2PMo12O40) and cinconine (CinH2PMo12O40). The metal p-tolyl sulfide oxidation at 20°C, with hydrogen peroxide and acetonitrile or ethanol (96%) as solvent, give 90% of the corresponding sulfoxide. The catalyst was recoverable and reused without loss of the catalytic activity. Other ecofriendly oxidants were used and a complex 1:1 of urea-hydrogen peroxide was the most active. Also, the sulfones were obtained at 50°C and excess of hydrogen peroxide with similar yields
