Resumen:
As
part of a program aimed to understand on the relationships between fish and
their predators, from 1990 the Instituto Antártico Argentino is developing
studies on the diet of the Antarctic
Shag Phalacrocorax
bransfieldensis. Our studies
started and currently continue at Duthoit Point (62º19´S, 58º51´W), Nelson
Island, South Shetland Islands (Casaux & Barrera-Oro, 1993a; Casaux et al., 1995a; Coria et al., 1995; Favero et al., 1998), but from 1991 were
extended to other localities of this archipelago such as Bajas Rocks (62º14´S,
58º40´W) (Casaux et al., 1995b), Half
Moon Island (62º36´S, 59º54´W) (Casaux
& Barrera-Oro, 1995a; Barrera-Oro & Casaux, 1996) and Harmony Point
(62º17´S, 59º14´W) (Casaux, 1997),
of the Laurie Island, South Orkney Islands such as Pirie Peninsula (Casaux et al., 1997) and of the Antarctic
Peninsula such as Danco Coast.
