Bimetallic Ni-Co catalysts supported on MgAl2O4-CeO2 were prepared by sol-gel andhydrazine reduction methods. In the sol-gel, the solid was calcined in a reducing atmosphereto obtain Ni and/or Co active sites, while the synthesis using hydrazine allows the in situreduction of the metals. The physicochemical properties of the catalysts were studied by TGA,FTIR, N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms, XRD and HRTEM. By HRTEM, Ni0, NiO, Co0 and Co2O3 phases were identified, indicating that not only metallic nanoparticles were formed. With the sol-gel method, the formation of nickel and cobalt particles around 8 nm was promoted, and with the hydrazine reduction method, particles of 3-4 nm were detected.
