Resumen:
The aim of this research is to analyse the pedagogical and childhood discourses that circulated and were legitimised in the subjects of Physical Education for Children in teacher training between 1963 and 1983, with a particular focus on the National Institute of Physical Education in Buenos Aires and the University Teacher Training Course in Physical Education at the National University of La Plata, Argentina. For this purpose, a qualitative methodological strategy will be used based on an interpretative design. In accordance with this strategy, we will seek to unveil our object of study in two units of analysis: teachers responsible for the subjects Physical Education for Children and documentary material. The empirical references will be: interviews with teachers and analysis of documentary sources: bibliographical manuals used in the subjects of Physical Education for Children, study plans and programmes of said subjects and Physical Education magazines. Moreover, during this period, professional training in Physical Education oscillated between conservation and modernisation, including educational technologies in its pedagogical practices. In this sense, we will also analyse the discourses that circulated in two series of photographic slides used as didactic resources in higher education in Physical Education. It is significant to note that this historical period in Argentina was marked by civil-military dictatorships, in which the state assumed a paternalistic role that subdued democratising positions. Consequently, teacher training institutions were marked by a profound authoritarianism and their educational projects were linked to pedagogical technicism.
