Resumen:
Sulfatides are galactosyl-3-sulfated-ceramide sphingolipids present in plasma membranes of mammalian brain tissue. Sulfatides, other sphingolipids and cholesterol are enriched in lipids rafts. The distribution of sulfatides in the plasma membrane is under investigation to provide direct evidence for the association of sulfoglycolipids with detergent-resistant membranes. Therefore, we developed and validated a highly sensitive and selective method for the measurements of sulfatides in plasma membranes using UHPLC-MS-MS.
