Resumen:
Helicobacter pylori infection has shown to be one of therisk factors of gastric cancer, which affects a largepopulation. Developing new technologies requireenhancing current pharmacological treatments due to theprevalence of H. pylori that is 76% in developing countriesand 58% in developed countries 3 . Here we have develop anefficient drug delivery system by using alginatemicrocapsules loaded with antibiotic-loaded lipid nano-capsules (LNC) to treat H. pylori infections. The conceptof improving the therapy efficacy is supported by atargeted release of the LNC in the site of the infection andimproved LNC uptake. The release from the microcapsulesis sensitive to acidity levels, ideally close to pH 7.4, whichis related to the ability of H. pylori to increase pH in thestomach by producing urease. Experiments showed thatmanufacturing methods based on coacervation allowed apH-specific controlled release of LNC.
