Resumen:
The family history of alcohol abuse (FH) in adolescents, in conjunction with the experimentation and regulation of emotions, are variables that can affect the risk taking. The aim of this study was to know the effect of the emotions and the state emotional regulation on the risk taking in adolescents aged 15 to 19 years with (+) and without (-) FH. A factorial experimental study of 2 (FH + or FH-) x 3 (type of emotion induction: positive, negative or neutral) was carried out in 98 adolescents (64.3% women, Meanage=16.49±1.04). As a result, it was found that risk taking varied according to the type of induction and the emotional regulation reported. On the other hand, when exploring differences in performance based on sex, it was found that HF+ males took significantly more risk than HF+ women. In this regard, it is concluded that FH and emotions influence the risky behavior of adolescents. The sex of the participants is highlighted as an important explanatory factor.
