Resumen:
In llamas raised in humid environments, it is common to see lesions(peeling) between the toes of the feet caused by fungi, which can becomplicated by myiasis. It is intended to evaluate the antifungal andcicatrising effect of a hydro-alcoholic solution of propolis at 5% withhoney at 1.63% (SHPM) on lesions caused by fungi and flies inllamas of extra-Andean zone. We worked with a llama (Lama glama)with two wounds, one in the lower gingiva, in the position of the 2ndand 3rd incisors on the left side where a myiasis was developed andexhibited the root of the second incisor. And another chronic woundlocated in the interdigital space of the left hind limb, product of amycosis aggravated by a deep myiasis. The treatment consisted ofdeep cleaning with hydrogen peroxide applied with pressure in theaffected area using a syringe, disinfection with 5% iodopovidone andextraction of all worms. Two daily applications of SHPM wereperformed locally during the first week of treatment and thencontinued to be applied only once a week until complete healing wasobserved. Was achieved an efficiency of 100% with SHPM for thetreatment of oral and dermal wounds. The SHPM is a promisingalternative as a cicatrizant and antifungal to treat wounds in animalproduction.
