Resumen:
The mass movement of people creates opportunities for thespread and establishment of infectious diseases, such as enteroparasitoses. For both geographical and historical reasons, Gran LaPlata is receiving an increasing number of immigrants. We aimed tocompare the prevalence of intestinal parasites in immigrant populations (IP) from Bolivia, Paraguay and Peru, and non-migrant populations (NMP) resided in periurban of Gran La Plata. A cross-sectionalstudy was conducted between April 2016-July 2017 in two groupsof 127 individuals matched for age (0-59 years old) and sex (47.2%males and 52.8% females). Coproparasitological samples wereanalyzed by Willis and Ritchie concentration methods, anal swabsand conventional PCR. Furthermore, socio-environmental factorswere surveyed through semi-structured questionnaires. The overall prevalence of intestinal parasites was 82.7% in IP and 66.1% inNMP (χ2=9.1,p
