Resumen:
In this paper we report the condensation reaction of the first generation of a dendritic monomer bearing hydroxyl or amine functional groups, with dialdehydes and diisocyanate co-monomers. Dimers and crosslinked polymers were obtained by reaction with glyoxal (Gly) and glutaraldehyde (Glu), respectively. Only crosslinked polymers were found when toluene diisocyanate (TDI) was used as co-monomers. The products were characterized by FT-IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy, DSC, TGA and GPC. Two principal factors exerted influence on the condensation reactions: the availability of the functional groups of the dendritic molecule and the reactivity and size of the co-monomers.
