Weak chaos in a conservative system of many infinite-range-coupled standard systems

We study a conservative system of N symplectically and infinite-range-coupled standard maps. We verify that, in the limit of vanishing nonlinear parameter a (i.e., nearintegrability), the largest Lyapunov exponent scales with N yielding weak chaos in the thermodynamic limit. This fact reinforces an analogy beetween coupled maps and many-body long-range Hamiltonian systems. These results accomodate well with the dynamical scenario typically associated with nonextensive statistical mechanics.
