Resumen:
The notion of distance in Hilbert space is relevant in several scenarios, in particular distances between quantum states play a central role in quantum information theory. In a previous workwe discussed an extension to the realm of quantum mechanics of the Jensen Shannon divergence (JSD) between probability distributions as a measure of distance between quantum states. Here we applied that measure to different families of quantum states in order to show its properties and we compare it with frequently distance measures appearing in literature. In the context of the quantum information theory we are able to generate an entanglement measure as well as an alternative concept of fidelity.
