Resumen:
The study of the metal-organic frameworks MOFs has experienced a rapid growth in the last two decades due to its interesting properties: flexibility in the design and functionalization of its pores, high specific surface and less complex synthesis, among others. [1]The objective of this work was to synthesize compounds of the MOF type UIO-66 with zirconium (Zr) as a metallic precursor and zirconium tetrachloride as a metallic source, using an alternative route of synthesis, with more favorable conditions from the economic and environmental point of view. That is why the use of alternative solvents is proposed. The synthesis was carried out by the solvothermal method at 120 ºC for 24 hours. Dimethylformamide (DMF) was used as the solvent and between 0 and 75% of said solvent was replaced by acetone. The properties of the material were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM-EDS) and infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) y superfical area. The MOF obtained by synthesis with 100% DMF showed the best crystallographic, morphological properties and the largest superfical area. The replacement of the solvent content generated small changes in the structure and morphology of the MOF.
