Photobiology in HPV intraepithelial lesions: Photodynamic Diagnostic and Photodynamic Therapy

The results of the optical biopsies are being compared with data obtained from molecular tests (Hybrid Capture CH2) and the "gold standard" (conventional biopsy). Simultaneously, we are conducting research experiences on PDT in cultured HeLa cells using photosensitizers (approved by ANMAT and FDA), and comparing lasers and LEDs as excitation sources. The results were transferred to the animal model and employ SFM in loci to verify the efficiency of PDT procedure, which would allow us to consider its use in human treatments at lower cost.
