A study of the Galactic HI supershell GS 121-05-037

GS 121-05-037 is a Galactic supershell located in the outer part of the Galaxy at (l, b) ∼ (121.°3, - 4.°8) at a distance of 3.2 ± 1 kpc from the Sun. In this work we estimated the kinetic energy of the feature to determine its possible origin. Several catalogued H II regions are located projected towards the supershell. With the aim of determining if the H II regions were triggered by the expansion of the supershell we developed a method to detect the generating sources of the H II regions an to determine if they are located at the same distance than the supershell. To this end, we made use of photometric and astrometric data from GAIA DR3 in conjunction with 2MASS photometry.
