Resumen:
Lingulids and siphonotretids (Lingulata) are described from the Ordovician(Floian-Dapingian) Suri Formation of the Famatina Basin in western Argentina. This isthe first record of lingulate brachiopods from the arc-related volcanosedimentary rocksof the Famatina Range. The fauna includes the new obolids Famatinobolus cancellatumnov. gen. nov. sp. and Lithobolus limbatum nov. sp., and the new siphonotretidChilcatreta lariojana nov. sp. Associated forms are the glosselins Glossella sp. andRafanoglossa sp., the elkaniid Monobolina nov. sp., and an unnamed new genus ofLingulellotretidae. The biogeographical affinities of the described Famatinan lingulateassemblage are mixed, sharing Chilcatreta and Glossella with the Laurentian-derivedCuyania terrane, Lithobolus and Rafanoglossa with Bohemia, Monobolina with theAnglo-Welsh basin, and a new lingulellotretid with the Celtic assemblages of Wales.
