Resumen:
Manymicrofluidic paper-based analytical devices (μPADs) still havelimited applicability due to the insufficient sensitivity and thelack of quantitative results. Different approaches have been proposedto circumvent these restrictions, which usually involve bulkylaboratory equipment for power supply and/or quantitative read-outs.As a novel strategy, this paper presents the concept of universalserial buses (USB)-powered µPADs. The concept was proved byimplementing isotachophoretic (ITP) on paper, therefore this workalso presents the first ITP-USB-µPAD. The device enables 100-foldsample focusing by applying only 5V, the lowest reported voltage.
