Resumen:
Previous works have shown the pH- responsive characteristics of hybrids materials of polyurethane/N,N-diethylaminoethyl methacrylate (PU/DEA) and its use as controlled drug release systems. In such systems themethod of incorporationof the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) in the matrix may be performed in different ways such as, by dipping the polymer film in a solution of API (immersion load) or by adding the API in the polymer dispersion before the film formation (dispersion load). In this work loaded hybrids of PU/DEA were prepared with both methods, in order to evaluate changes in the drug release kinetics as a consequenceof the different ways of incorporation. Films characterization was performed by FTIR, swellingand the drug release assays at different pH values, using Rhodamine 6G (Rh6G) as an API model. The amount of Rh6G released was higher in systems loaded by immersion.Different ways of incorporation of the API in hybrids systems of PU/DEA,modify the subsequent release in the conditions tested in this work
