SN 2010ev: detailed study of a high-velocity type Ia Supernova

We present intensive monitoring of the Type Ia Supernova (SN Ia) 2010ev, discovered by the Chilean Automatic Supernova Search (CHASE). Multi- band optical photometry was obtained, along with spectroscopy ranging from 7 days before to 20 days after the time of B-band maximum light, plus a spectrum obtained 9 months after the explosion, during the nebular phase. From the light curves we infer that this is a SN Ia of normal brightness, which suffered significant reddening. Spectroscopically, this SN belongs to the subclass of high velocity gradient (HVG) events.
