Resumen:
AbstractThe transition to democracy inArgentina during the early 1980s brought about, among many otherreforms, a new professionalization of philosophical studies in thecountry. It was a moment of disciplinary development, especiallyafter the Third National Conference of Philosophy, celebrated in1980. During these years, questions about the role of intellectualsand philosophers in society were highly debated against the backdropof the democratization process. This article identifies theinstitutions, magazines, and research centres devoted to philosophybefore, during and after the transition to democracy in Argentina.Our hypothesis is that these platforms, at this particular moment,shaped the way in which philosophy is practised in the country today.First, we highlight the relevance of authors who participated in theproject of a ?Latin American philosophy? in order to trace onenarrative critical of disciplinary professionalization. Second, weanalyse academic and cultural journals that played an active role inthe introduction of foreign authors and philosophical debates. Thesegroups, we argue, set forth fundamental and contesting narrativesabout the democratization process in Argentina in relation tophilosophy. h2 { margin-top: 0.14in; margin-bottom: 0.08in; direction: ltr; line-height: 100%; text-align: left; orphans: 2; widows: 2; background: transparent; page-break-before: auto; page-break-after: avoid }h2.western { font-family: "Libre Baskerville", serif; font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold }h2.cjk { font-family: "Libre Baskerville"; font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold }h2.ctl { font-family: "Libre Baskerville"; font-size: 14pt }p { margin-bottom: 0.1in; line-height: 115%; background: transparent }a:link { color: #000080; so-language: zxx; text-decoration: underline }
