Resumen:
Neurodevelopment and cortical formation require the proper migration of developing neurons from progenitor-rich ventricular zone to the cortical plate. Precise coordination of migratory patterns is achieved by a variety of process such as cytoskeleton dynamics, membrane traffic and cell adhesions that must be exquisitely balanced. In this context, the small GTPase Rab21 has been involved in the regulation of cell adhesion dynamics by controlling the traffic of endocytotic vesicles containing adhesion molecules. Interestingly, has been also reported to participate in neurite outgrowth. In this study, we use in utero elecroporation to demonstrate in situ that Rab21 is regulated neuronal development and migration during the establishment of the embryonic cerebral cortex.
