Resumen:
Graphite mtercalation compounds have been prepared by reaction of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) with mixtures of BF,/F,. Pure stages I-III have been obtained. 19F NMR measurements indicate that the intercalant consists of mixtures of BF, and BF,-. Weight uptake measurements combined with charge transfer determined from reflectivity measurements show that the BF,/BF,- ratro in stage I may be as high as 3.
