Resumen:
Within the invading species, bivalve mollusks are considered as high profile invaders, as much by their biological characteristics as by the great notoriety of their ecosystem impacts. In spite of this, the attempts to control or to avoid the dispersion of these species have been scarce. In this study we show a categorization made with information extracted from the ISI Web of Science on published scientific works between 1989 and 2010 (acceded in 24-5-11) with three bivalve invaders widely distributed: Corbicula Fluminea, Dreisena polymorpha and Limnoperna fortunei. A total of 251, 922 and 81 works were found for each of these species respectively. The non experimental works (at field or laboratory) were represented with 123 articles for C. fluminea, 428 for D. polymorpha and 45 for L. fortunei (49, 46 and 55%, respectively). In all the cases, the articles implied directly in conservation projects were not well represented, with zero articles for C. fluminea and L. fortunei, and 10 articles for D. polymorpha (≈ 1%). The relevance of these results in the handling of invading species, as therefore the real possibilities to make control and handling in Argentina within a scientific system that praises the publication of scientific Literature per se are discussed here.
