Resumen:
The integration of renewable energysources such as photovoltaic and wind power into Active Distribution Networks(ADNs) has increased in recent years, posing challenges to maintain power quality. This paper proposes a comprehensive approach for voltage control in ADNs byintegrating the areas of Process Systems Engineering (PSE) and Power Systems. Forthis purpose, a plantwide control design methodology based on a decentralizedstrategy complemented by a Control Allocation (CA) module and a MeasurementCombination (MC) block is presented. The CA and MC modules perform adimensional reduction of the input-output variable space, allowing latentvariable sets to be used as control actions and controlled variables. Theproposed procedure is implemented through a multiobjective bilevelmixed-integer nonlinear programming (BMINLP) optimization problem. The leaderproblem is based on the minimization of three functional costs, including: i) thesum of squared deviations (SSD) index of the output variables, ii) the SSD ofthe manipulated variables, and iii) the number of selected manipulatedvariables and measurements. The proposed strategy provides a systematicmethodology to support the decision-making process in the design, operation, and control of ADNs with distributed renewable generation. The proposedmethodology contributes with the development of more effective strategies for themanagement of ADNs by exploring the potential of a novel interdisciplinaryapproach.
