En este trabajo sepresenta un resumen de cada una de las posiciones vigentes sobre el origen delhexámetro dactílico, desde West (1973) hasta David (2006), con un breveanálisis de las ventajas e inconvenientes de cada una de ellas. En una segundaparte se realiza un análisis meta-teórico y metodológico del problema,especialmente centrado en identificar los más importantes principios deanálisis que subyacen a los enfoques sobre el tema. El objetivo es producir unaimagen organizada del estado de la cuestión, que permita entender cuáles son yqué alcance tienen las premisas metodológicas de los diferentes autores queanalizan el problema.In this paper Ipresent a sum up of each of the current positions regarding the origin of thedactylic hexameter, from West (1973) to David (2006), with a brief analysis ofthe advantages and difficulties of each of them. In a second part I provide ameta-theoretical and methodological analysis of the problem, particularlyfocused on identifying the most important principles of analysis that lie beneaththe main approaches to the issue. The goal is to provide an organized image ofthe state of the art, that will allow understanding which are and what is thereach of the methodological premises of the different scholars that analyze theproblem.
