Resumen:
In the last decades, bovine genetic markers have been applied to resolve several theoretical and practical questions, such as parentage analysis, paternal and maternal linage determination, genetic disease detection and genomic selection. Herein, we report the development of a medium-density SNP Axiom array, named ArBos 1, and its utility in bovine production. This array includes 58.088 SNPs, covering the 29 autosomal and sexual chromosomes, as well as, the mitochondrial DNA. These SNPs were selected from commercial HD bovine microarrays and form public database, using LD, positional and functional criteria. In this sense, the ArBos1 include SNPs for parentage analysis, the detection of genetic disease, quantitative and qualitative traits, and uniparental lineages. DNAs form 384 bovines belonging to eight Taurine, Zebu and composite breeds were genotyping. The obtained results showed an average call rate of 99.25 with 91.72% of high resolution polymorphic SNPs, and an average heterozygosity of 37 ± 3.92. Linkage disequilibrium analysis evidence a total of 2.598 LD blocks, including between two and forty SNPs. The development arrays could be used to solve in a unique genotyping assay.
