Resumen:
A multi-scale, one dimensional, isothermal, stationary model of a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is implemented. Results obtained from the model (polarisation curves) are validated with experimental data. A sur-face electric charge maximum is observed at low current densities due to a significant increase in the electrochem-ical double layer capacitance produced by the increasing water dipoles surface coverage on the catalyst surface. Stationary results are also within the range of results obtained from a transient analysis of PEMFC.
