The aim of the report is to review and identify suitable protocols for scale modelling to forecast biogeomorphic system response over time scales relevant to the management of climate change adaptation (decades). The report is structured into three key sections that review recent work carried out in flume experiments (with both vegetation and chemical surrogates) and numerical studies to gain and improved understanding of the timescale criteria for representing long term biogeomorphic processes.
