Resumen:
Design and fabrication of bioactive polymeric materials for tissue engineering is an area of growing interest, particularly due to the wide range of opportunities that offer polymeric materials. Poly(ɛ-caprolactone) PCL, was synthetized by anionic polymerization techniques and chemically functionalized with maleic anhydride 3% (w/w). Modified PCL was used for the fabrication of a composite material with bioglass (BG) deposited on stainless steel through Electrophoretic Deposition (EPD) technique. Microstructural studies (FTIR and SEM) revealed the effectiveness of the modifier agent used, as well as a well distribution of bioglass particles on the composite coating. Finally, in vitro assays were carried by immersion on simulated body fluid solution for 14 days. SEM-EDX and XRD analyses confirmed the formation of a hydroxyapatite (HA) layer over PCL membrane after immersion in SBF solution, exhibiting Ca/P values ~ 1.98, being this value closer to ratio values observed for the HA in hard tissues.
