Resumen:
Magneticmaterials are a very important issue in energy convert and transport and theirefficiency is getting more importance concerning renewable energies and globalwarming. Nevertheless there is scarce information about optimization ofmagnetic properties and even more in the relation between magnetism and themicrostructure of the material. It is known that order, recovery and recrystallizationresulted in a significant improvement of magnetic properties. Soft magneticmaterials are commonly used as magnetic cores of transformers, choke inductorsand electric motors.Inthis work was evaluated the magnetic response of Fe-Si, Fe-Al-Si, Fe-Ge,Fe-Al-Ge alloys as a function of the annealing temperature. Checked sampleswere homogenized at 1050°C during 1 hour under high vacuum and quenched in roomtemperature water. Annealing treatments were realized step by step byincreasing in 50°C starting from room temperature up to 1050°C. Annealing wasmade with a temperature increase of 1.5C/min under high vacuum. Magnetic cycleswere recorded at room temperature in a laboratory assembled automatic looptracer. The average of 10 cycles was considered for each sample and annealingtemperature.Theevolution of the characteristics parameters of the magnetic loop, i.e., thesaturation magnetization, the coercive force and the area of the loop as afunction of the annealing temperature is shown. The physical mechanismscontrolling the behavior of the magnetic response are discussed on the basis ofboth recovery and evolution of the order degree of the microstructure.
