Resumen:
The Del Azul Creek basin (Argentina), is a sub-humid continental plain and it is part of one of the largest plains in the world. In this area, the spatial distribution of rainfall is highly heterogeneous and large amount differences have been observed over distances of 50 km. Taking into account the distribution of precipitation, and the particularities of the relief, the aim of this work was to characterize the spatio-temporal patterns of rainfall stable isotopes by means of statistical tools. In this study we present some preliminary results that will be part of a larger work that will attempts to know the origin of rainfall and understand how hydrological processes work in this non-typical hydrological system.
