Resumen:
Bone is a highly complex organ, metabolically active and with the unique capability to restore its structural integrity. In such a way, a better knowledge of the endogenous mechanisms for bone regeneration during physiological healing could lead to an archetype for the design of a successful implant. Therefore a brief summary of bone structure and the sequence of biochemical processes leading to tissue restoration around an implant will be engaged on this section.
