Resumen:
Pejerrey (Odontesthes bonariensis) is one of the most popular inland fish in South America and has a long history of introductions in many countries. However there are very few genetics tools and information available about its populations. Using high-throughput genomic sequencing technology and bioinformatics tools, 3,920 sequences containing microsatellites motifs were identified. A sample of 13 polymorphic microsatellites were isolated and characterized. Wild and hatchery populations were analyzed. Our results suggested that the genetic variability in these populations were significantly different. Monitoring hatchery strains and population genetics studies should be performed for an appropriate genetic resource management.
