Spaces can be understood in its Physical aspects: geography, environment, shape, etc., but also in its Sympbolic aspects: the experience od the space through which "people social exchanges, memories, imagies and daily uses", give meanings to that space. Based on this approach and collecting data with ethnographic techniques (interviews, informal conversations, site visits, historical analysis) several dimensions relevant to the land use problematic in Podhosrky Pas were explored in order to get the different meanings attributed to the present and future of Podhorsky Pas by local actors (ordinary people and politicians and planners), their point of view. The utility of such analysis resides in the importance of understanding the different conceptions of a problem where several actors are involved to reach consensus in future spatial interventions.
