Resumen:
The combined use of micropatterned surfaces and antibiotics on biofilms to reduce the rate of bacterial colonization is proposed. The adhesion of Pseudomonas fluorescens on microstructured (MS) and on nanostructured gold (NS) was assessed. MS- and NS-biofilms showed a decrease of five and two orders, respectively in the number of living cells with respect to the control after being treated with 4 mg/L of streptomycin (ST). We demonstrated that the combined action MS+ST is synergistic.
