Resumen:
The lockdown enforced in Argentina to contain the COVID-19 spread meant that many people had to remain at home since their occupations were deemed non-essential. Centers that guarantee the rights of children and young people in which girls and young women find support in facing violent situations and other restrictions on their autonomy, were closed. Here, through the perspectives of political anthropology and feminist studies, I analyze the ways in which the State converted itself to maintain its social policies aimed at children and young people; I pose questions related to the virtualization of these policies and highlight the centrality of territorial networks. This research focused on a suburban area of Greater Buenos Aires that has high rates of poverty, population density, and COVID-19 infection.
