Resumen:
A new low-cost long-range frequency domain low coherenceinterferometry detector is presented: the TimeFourier domain low coherence interferometry (TFDLCI).Combining ideas of time domain and frequencydomain techniques, the TFD-LCI detects the analogFourier transform of the optical interference signal withno limitation for the maximum optical path, measuringthe thickness of several centimeters with a micrometerresolution. A complete characterization of the techniqueis presented with a mathematical demonstration, simulationsand experimental results. An evaluation of repeatabilityand accuracy is also included. Measurements ofsmall and large monolayer and multilayer thicknesseswere done. Characterization of the internal and externalthicknesses of industrial products like transparent packagesand glass windshield are presented, showing thepotentiality of TFD-LCI for industrial applications.
