Resumen:
This goal of this letter is to document the recent training activities on practical applications for climatevariability studies. The course was conducted by Enrico Scoccimarro and Andrea Carril, both withaffiliation in the National Institute of Geophysics and Vulcanology (INGV) and it took place in theDepartment of Atmospheric Sciences at Buenos Aires University (UBA) during February 2006. Localorganization also involved people of the Research Centre of the Sea and the Atmosphere (CIMA) whogave support on technical computing issues. The activities were organized in the framework ofCLARIS work package 2.1, with the aim of training scientist and graduate students from the SouthAmerican laboratories in programming languages commonly used in Europe to explore inmeteorological time series.
