The purpose of this conference is to introduce the students of ancient law into a more comprehensive examination of Classical Greek sources. By providing examples related to the comic treatment of legal subjects, institutions and norms, the presentation explains the ways in which Old Comedy plays with the relevant juridical background and offers a different view on Athenian justice and its social perceptions in the late Vth and early IVth centuries BCE.
