19,19,20,20,20-pentadeuteriolipoxin A4 methyl ester was synthesized from key intermediates. 19,19,20,20,20-pentadeuteriarachidonic acid.and ist methyl ester were also synthesized by sequential coupling of intemediates, With the use od the pentadeuterated derivates, a gas-chromatography-mass spectroscopy method for quantitative detection of naturally occurring eicosanoidswas developed.
